Each side's monthly invested hours are actual weekly hours times 52 ÷ 12, plus round-trip commute converted from minutes and commute days. Real hourly pay divides net monthly pay by those invested hours, and monthly free hours are what remains of your waking time after the job takes its share.
When the job with the higher paycheck ends up with lower real hourly pay after hours and commute are folded in, the statement flags it as a reversal. Both directions are flagged - an offer that pays less on paper can still win on the real rate. The tool states the numbers and never tells you whether to take the offer.
Inputs are kept in local storage under paji-toolset.job-switch-statement so the same browser can restore them, and every calculation happens locally. Values are sanitized into safe ranges, there is no result card or share link that encodes your numbers, and the standard share entry only shares the tool's URL.
